Abstract

The use of therapeutic castration by radiation has diminished in the last decade due to effects such as irregular and slower hormonal decrease compared to surgery. However, it may be used if appropriate in special circumstances in the advanced breast cancer patient. Seventy-five percent of radiation oncologists would treat for therapeutic purposes in the national survey.
