Zusammenfassung
Somatosensorisch evozierte Potentiale (SEP) können nach Stimulation von Nerven der unteren und der oberen Extremität nicht nur kortikal, sondern auch vom Hirnstamm und vom Rückenmark abgeleitet werden. Dadurch wird eine Funktionsuntersuchung des afferenten Systems ermöglicht. Durch die Ableitung von mehreren Orten ist darüber hinaus die Lokalisation eines spinalen Prozesses möglich. Die Ableitung von spinalen SEP nach Stimulation von Nerven der oberen Extremität ist technisch einfacher und hat deshalb in der elektrophysiologischen Diagnostik bereits eine weite Verbreitung gefunden [25, 42]. Die Ableitung von spinalen SEP nach Stimulation des N. tibialis ist methodisch jedoch schwieriger. Dies gilt besonders bei Ableitung über dem Halsmark und dem Hirnstamm.
