Zusammenfassung
Im Jahre 1913 entdeckte Stark eine Aufspaltung der Linien der Balmer-Serie von Wasserstoff (vgl. Gl. 8.2) im elektrischen Feld. Er untersuchte die Lichtemission von H-Atomen im Felde eines Kondensators, Abb. 15.1, 2. Allgemein bezeichnet man seitdem Frequenzverschiebungen in optischen Spektren unter dem Einfluß elektrischer Felder als Stark-Effekt.
