Synopsis

  1. 1.

    Eine Therapie mit Lithiumsalzen wurde bei verschiedenen neurologischen Erkrankungen erprobt.

  2. 2.

    Die prophylaktische Wirksamkeit von Lithium bei episodischem und chronischem Cluster-Kopfschmerz wurde in zahlreichen offenen Studien eindrucksvoll belegt. Doppelblinduntersuchungen stehen noch aus.

  3. 3.

    Bei der Migräne ist eine Behandlung mit Lithium möglicherweise erfolgversprechend, wenn die Erkrankung eine zyklische Verlaufsform („cyclical migraine“) aufweist.

  4. 4.

    Eine Wirksamkeit von Lithium bei anderen neurologischen Störungen (Morbus Menière, Epilepsie, Chorea Huntington, Morbus Parkinson, Spätdyskinesien, periodische Hypersomnie, Gilles-de-la-Tourette-Syndrom, Torticollis spasticus, hypokaliämisehe, periodische Lähmung) konnte bislang nicht nachgewiesen werden.

  5. 5.

    Bei symptomatischen affektiven Psychosen, die im Rahmen einer neurologischen Erkrankung auftreten, wurden Therapieerfolge mit Lithium beschrieben.
