Zusammenfassung
Bei der 1829 von Cruveilhier [5] wohl erstmals beschriebenen Melanosis coli handelt es sich um eine in der proktologischen Sprechstunde häufig zu beobachtende [9,11, 27] braunschwarze, inhomogene, „leopardartige“ Pigmentierung der Schleimhaut, die über das gesamte Kolon verteilt sein kann, wobei Rektum, distales Kolon und Zökum meist besonders betroffen sind. Auch in mesenterialen Lymphknoten, Appendix und terminalem Ileum konnte dieses Pigment nachgewiesen werden [2,22]. Das endoskopisch recht eindrucksvolle Bild, das bevorzugt bei Frauen mittlerer und höherer Altersgruppen beobachtet wird [3, 23,27,29], verläuft völlig symptomlos, hat keinerlei Krankheitswert und ist vollreversibel [3,7,25]. Nach Absetzen der Noxe verschwindet die Pigmentierung meist innerhalb von 4-12 Monaten wieder [25].
