Abstract

A tool for helping knowledge engineers design, build and test different frameworks for expert systems. Implemented In INTERLISP <103>. Provides an environment in which different representational and control techniques can be explored and developed. AGE provides the user with two types of entities: components and frameworks; a component is a collection of routines that support basic AI mechanisms e. g. production rules <192> and a framework is a predefined configuration of components e. g. backward chaining, blackboard <19> AGE contains useful interfaces for building, debugging and explanation, plus history-recording facilities.
