Im allgemeinen weisen Länder mit einer hohen Erkrankungshäufigkeit an Kolonkrebs auch eine hohe Morbidität an Rektumkrebs auf. Länder mit hoher Inzidenzrate (Männer) sind z.B. Dänemark (17.0), England/Birmingham (16.7) und USA/Staat New York (16.8). Mittlere Raten melden Israel (13.1), DDR (13.3) und die Bundesrepublik Deutschland/ Hamburg (12.9). Niedrig liegt die standardisierte Erkrankungsrate in Südeuropa, z.B. Spanien/Saragossa (6.2), Japan/Osaka (7.9), Indien/Bombay (4.5) und Afrika (<5.0) [11]. Entsprechende, meist niedrigere Raten liegen für die Frauen vor.

Abstract

In general, countries with a high incidence of colon cancer also have a high incidence of rectal cancer. Countries with a high incidence rate (men) are, for instance, Denmark (17.0), England (Birmingham 16.7), and USA (State of New York 16.8). Israel (13.1), the German Democratic Republic (13.3) and the Federal Republic of Germany (Hamburg 12.9) report intermediate rates. The standardized incidence rate in southern Europe, (e.g., Spain; Zaragoza 6.2), Japan (Osaka 7.9), India (Bombay 4.5), and Africa (<5.0) is lower [11]. Corresponding, mostly lower rates are reported for women.
