Zusammenfassung

Der Darmkrebs steht heute in vielen Staaten der westlichen Welt — so auch hierzulande — bei beiden Geschlechtern an zweiter Stelle unter den Krebstodesursachen. Im folgenden werden die Krebse des Kolons (des Dickdarms) und die des Rektums (des Mastdarms) gesondert betrachtet, da ihre Morbidität, ihre Mortalität und ihre Trends unterschiedlich sind.

Abstract

In many countries of the western world, including this country, intestinal cancer now takes second place among causes of death from cancer for both sexes. Cancers of the colon and those of the rectum will be considered separately below, since they vary in their morbidity, mortality, and trends.
