Zusammenfassung
Wir haben Serin als Alkoholkomponente der Kephaline kennengelernt. Außer der alkoholischen Hydroxylgruppe trägt Serin auch eine Carboxyl- und eine Aminogruppe und zwar beide am gleichen, endständigen C-Atom. Serin kann also als Alkohol, als Säure und als Base reagieren.
