Zusammenfassung

Eine gezielte medikamentöse Therapie der chronischen Diarrhö setzt voraus, daß man die Grundkrankheit kennt, was oft erhebliche diagnostische Schwierigkeiten bereitet. Chronische Diarrhö ist ein Symptom vieler Dünn- und Dickdarmerkrankungen und Stoffwechselstörungen. Sie kann nach verschiedenen Operationen auftreten oder bei psychovegetativen Störungen im Vordergrund stehen (Tabelle 5). Wenn die Ursache nicht gefunden oder nicht kausal therapiert werden kann, ist eine symptomatische Therapie angebracht.
