Zusammenfassung

In diesem Kapitel untersuchen wir die Veränderungen der Zustände der gebundenen Elektronen 1 eines Atoms, wenn beliebig viele gleichartige Atome zu einem Kristallgitter zusammengefügt werden. Es wird sich zeigen, daß auch die scharfen „gebundenen Atomterme“im Kristall zu Energiebändern werden, und daß die Art und Stärke der interatomaren Wechselwirkung die entscheidende Rolle spielt. Um den Übergang zur Einelektron-Bändertheorie der Halbleiter und Metalle herzustellen, die vom entgegengesetzten Grenzfall der freien Elektronen ausgeht, beginnen wir mit Einelektronzuständen.
