    Fractures of the proximal two-thirds of the humerus are most often treated conservatively. The indications for operative intervention are as follows:
    1. 5)

      Dislocation fracture of the humeral head Fixation: T-plate

    2. 6)

      Avulsion fracture of the greater trochanter with subacromial impingement Fixation: 6.5-mm or 4.0-mm cancellous bone screw or tension-band wire

    3. 7)

      Comminuted fracture (in patients under 50) Fixation: Cloverleaf plate
