Preoperative Localization of Pheochromocytoma
Pheochromocytomas are tumors of chromaffin tissue that produce vasopressor substances of the catecholamine group (epinephrine, norepinephrine). These substances released into the blood stream in excessive quantities produce episodic or (less frequently) sustained hypertension.
