Zusammenfassung

Wachstum ist die gleichmäßige Zunahme aller Beständteile eines Organismus. So ist eine Größenzunahme infolge Wasseraufnahme oder Lipidablagerung kein echtes Wachstum. Die Zellvermehrung ist eine Folge des Wachstums. Bei einzelligen Organismen führt die Vermehrung zu einer Vergrößerung der Zahl der Individuen, die dann eine Population oder eine Kultur bilden.
