Zusammenfassung
Obwohl es — nach Kapitel 2 — also auch im 19. Jahrhundert wahrscheinlich keine symmetrischen, sinusförmigen, siebenjährigen Konjunkturschwankungen mit inhärenter Zyklik als kausaler Erklärung gab, prägt diese theoretische Abstraktion die Vorstellungen über die Konjunkturschwankungen bis auf den heutigen Tag. Die klassische Theorie muß daher kurz dargestellt werden, um dann im nächsten und in den folgenden Kapiteln die Punkte genauer ausführen zu können, in denen die klassische Beschreibung oder Erklärung entweder unzureichend oder falsch ist.
To define depression we must also define prosperity, for the two are correlated concepts, since each is the negative of the other.
