Zusammenfassung
Wir behandeln in diesem Kapitel diejenigen Kristalle, deren makroskopische elektrische Polarisation auf im Gitter lokalisierte elektrische Dipole zurückgeführt werden kann. Das sind dielektrische, parelektrische, ferro- und antiferroelektrische Isolatoren. Substanzen, die permanente Dipole (z. B. Dipolmolekeln) enthalten, heißen parelektrisch, Substanzen mit spontan geordneten Dipolen heißen pyro-, ferro- oder antiferroelektrisch. Alle anderen Substanzen nennen wir dielektrisch 1. Die elektrisehe Polarisation von Leitern und Halbleitern durch Verschiebung freier Ladungsträger wird hier nicht behandelt (siehe Ziffer 44.2.3.2).
