Zusammenfassung

Die Tumoren des Hodens sind selten und vorwiegend — zu etwa 95% — maligne. Sie machen weniger als 1% aller Neoplasien der männlichen Genitalorgane aus. Auf 100.000 männliche Einwohner der USA entfallen 2,1–2,2 maligne Hodentumoren, in Kanada sind es 2,5. Bei Negern, Asiaten sowie Neuseeländern werden Hodentumoren kaum beobachtet. In 2% aller Fälle kommt auf der Gegenseite ein zweiter Hodentumor vor.
