The Elbow

Fractures of the elbow are unstable and most cases cannot be accurately reduced by conservative means. Inadequate treatment often leads to malposition of fragments and eventual arthrosis so that internal fixation is frequently indicated. The slender bony components are as a rule untreatable by standard implants so that the SFS is often used. As many operative procedures have only recently been tried out, they are here described in detail.
