Zusammenfassung
In den Zellen grüner Pflanzen existieren zwei Systeme der Fettsäurebildung, die einen unterschiedlichen Auflbau erkennen lassen und durch Kompartimentierung räumlich voneinander getrennt sind. Die Fettsäurebildung in Chloroplasten wurde bereits im Kap. 6 besprochen. Die Fettsäure-Synthese im Cytoplasma erfolgt an einem Multienzymkomplex; die Fettsäuren werden anschließend zur Bildung von Triglyceriden (Reservefetten) und Phosphatiden benützt. Da Phosphatide als unentbehrliche Bestandteile der Membranen aller Organismen gelten können, ist zu vermuten, daß Multienzymkomplexe zur Fettsäure-Synthese im Cytoplasma ubiquitär verbreitet sind. Genaue Kenntnisse besitzen wir aber nur für das System aus Hefe und Säugetieren. Neben dem Einbau in Lipide sind auch weitgehende strukturelle Modifikationen, Verlängerungen und Fragmentierungen des Fettsäuregerüstes bekannt.
