Zusammenfassung
Wir haben gesehen, daß eine direkte Beziehung zwischen den Nukleinsäuren und den Proteinen besteht. Bei der Betrachtung des genetischen Codes haben wir synthetische Systeme kennengelernt. Wir haben ferner gesehen, daß die dabei gewonnenen Daten mit den an Viren gewonnenen Daten übereinstimmen. Weiterführende Untersuchungen ergaben, daß die Aussagen auf alle Organismen extrapolierbar sind, daß also der genetische Code universell ist.
