Zusammenfassung

Mit den Fortschritten der kardio-vasculären Chirurgie sind thorakale Aortenaneurysmen der operativen Behandlung zugängig geworden. Voraussetzung dafür war die Möglichkeit des Gefaßersatzes mit Kunststoffprothesen, sowie die Entwicklung technischer Hilfsmittel zur temporären Blutumleitung. Wegen schlechter Ergebnisse palliativer Operationsverfahren ist heute die Resektion des erkrankten Gefaßabschnittes mit nachfolgender Wiederherstellung der Strombahn das Ziel der chirurgischen Therapie.
