Zusammenfassung

Seit Glukagon (HGF) in hoch gereinigter Form zur Verfügung steht, wurden ausgedehntere Studien über die Wirkung dieser Substanz durchgeführt. Obwohl heute kein Zweifel mehr darüber besteht, daß Glucagon ein selbständiges stoffwechselwirksames Hormon ist, blieb seine Rolle im Stoffwechselgeschehen noch sehr im Dunkeln (1, 4, 8, 11). Als die wichtigste und primäre Wirkung dieses zweiten Pankreashormones galt bisher die vorübergehende, kurzfristige Hyperglykämie, wie sie regelmäßig nach der Injektion des in Wasser gelösten Hormons beobachtet wird. Weitere darüber hinausgehende Effekte wurden im allgemeinen mit dieser Blutzuckersteigerung in Zusammenhang gebracht.
