Zusammenfassung

Nachdem durch die vorhergehenden Referate die Beziehungen umfassender biologischer Konzeptionen zur Medizin dargestellt worden sind, bleibt mir die dagegen ein wenig undankbare Aufgabe, die Erörterungen in die Banalität des Praktischen zurückzuführen. Aber eine klare Herausarbeitung der Bedeutung der zum Teil nicht bewiesenen, aber oft postulierten, weitreichenden biologischen Leistungen der Flora für den Makroorganismus ist vordringlich geworden durch die breite Verwendung antibakterieller Stoffe weit über den medikamentösen Bereich hinaus (z. B. Fütterung, Konservierung, 37, 38).
