Abstract
It is important to emphasize at the outset that we accept the tenets of present-day child psychiatry, such as that psychopathology has multifactorial etiologies and that children, adolescents, and families require a global, multi-disciplinary, psycho-medico-social approach that includes a psychotherapeutic dimension. We also consider that the scope of child psychiatry covers the whole field of psycho-medico-juridico-social issues, so that it includes children in difficulties at school as well as those who are victims of cruelty or present a psychotic pathology.
