Abstract

The objective of this paper is to give insight into what we would call a daring project in the field of production of strategic raw materials of plant origin for the elaboration of purified extracts for the pharmaceutical industry. The experience in the production of dried Ginkgo biloba leaves on large scale plantations for the production of a purified and standardized extract (EGb 761) for related pharmaceutical specialities widely and mainly sold on the European market will be presented here more specifically.
