Abstract
This tumour was defined by Jaffe in 1958. The essential problem confronted by the pathologist is that of distinguishing it from a fibroblastic sarcoma of low grade malignancy. However, whether central or periosteal, it is a tumour which several recent publications have shown to possess an aggressive nature.
