Abstract

Since the laser was first introduced into medical diagnosis and treatment, there has been a virtual explosion of new technology in this field. Not only are lasers an effective new addition to the therapeutic armamentarium, they are also a cost-effective modality that can help to hold down the burgeoning costs of health care.
