Abstract

Hypermedia may be produced by importing existing material in combination with new material. Usually this will be the most cost-effective way. Organized investigations should be undertaken to find authors and to define the template on which the system will be built. Check-list for research on sources:

  • Available software like tools for creation and adaptation, databases, and user interfaces.

  • Available material such as texts, pictures, sound.

  • Are the formats compatible with the software?

  • If not, which actions are to be taken?

  • Available authors, including photographers or illustrators.

  • What must be totally new?

  • What must be added?

  • Are there copyrights to be paid?
