Due to the enormous amount of information available to the user of a hypermedia system, the user is likely to get lost. To avoid this, steps must be taken to guide the user during his or her session. Although several navigation methods are possible there are two main groups of navigation methods:
  • The method of valuing certain nodes to the user as he or she makes moves. This method is called coaching.

  • The method of preparing a path at the start of a session.
