Current Density Filaments in Semiconductor Devices

  • Chapter
Nonlinear Dynamics in Solids

Abstract

In recent years the study of nonlinear dynamic systems has become a major topic in different areas of physics, chemistry and biology [1]. Undoubtedly, the interest was further stimulated by an increasing number of experimental observations of characteristic instabilities, such as pattern formation, self-oscillation phenomena, bistability and chaos (see other parts of this book).
