Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat das wissenschaftliche Interesse an den biologischen Grundlagen psychischer Störungen erheblich zugenommen. Im Mittelpunkt standen die endogenen Psychosen, wobei die Suche nach biologischen Markern zu einer zentralen Forschungsrichtung in der Psychiatrie geworden ist (Bondy et al. 1988). In den letzten Jahren wurde dieser Untersuchungsansatz nun auch auf den Bereich der Abhängigkeitserkrankungen, insbesondere den Alkoholismus, ausgedehnt (Begleiter u. Porjesz 1988, Collins 1988, Radouco-Thomas et al. 1984, Reich 1988, Schuckit 1986).
