Zusammenfassung
Bei der Suche nach biologischen Korrelaten der Drogenabhängigkeit handelt es sich immer um Teilaspekte. Dabei ist die Abgrenzung von Normvarianten besonders schwierig. Unter den Teilaspekten sollen Fragen verstanden werden nach dem genetischen Anteil, nach dem Belohnungssystem, dem System, das aktiviert wird, wenn es darum geht, Mißempfindungen zu vermeiden, nach der physiologischen Funktion dieser Systeme, nach den Prozessen, die die Entstehung und Aufrechterhaltung des Kontrollverlustes regulieren, nach der Toleranzentwicklung, nach adaptiven Veränderungen von Rezeptoren und anderen Proteinen sowie deren Synthese und Abbau, nach metabohschen Veränderungen und nicht zuletzt nach der Bildung und Funktion von Neuromodulatoren.
