Approximate Solutions

  • Chapter
Direct and Inverse Problems

Abstract

Although the algorithms for approximate solutions of the Schrödinger equation are presented in complete detail in a number of monographs, practically no monographs devoted to approximate solutions of the quantum inverse problem are available. We hope to close this gap, at least to a certain extent, in this chapter.

“To my mind it is the need to harmonize conflicting requirements that makes the concoction of algorithms a fascinating task”.

B. Parlett (1980)
