Abstract
The structural elucidation of prostacyclin (PGI2) showed that this substance is to be regarded as a typical cyclooxygenase product of the eicosanoids. The chemical structure of prostacyclin (Fig. 2) is described as 9-deoxo-6,9α-epoxy-delta5-PGF1α [289].
