Zusammenfassung

Ältere, multimorbide Patienten bilden auch bei den Myastheniepatienten eine besondere Risikogruppe, sie werden überproportional häufig im Rahmen krisenhafter Verschlechterungen auf neurologische Intensivstationen aufge-nommen. Innerhalb dieser Gruppe finden sich gehäuft Patienten mit Thymomen. Häufigste Ursache für krisenhafte Verschlechterungen ist neben Erstmanifestationen insbesondere eine unzureichende Immunsuppression. Durch konsequente Immunsuppression und gezielte Begleittherapie ist es möglich, Komplikationen weitgehend zu vermeiden und die Aufenthaltsdauer auf der Intensivstation abzukürzen.
