Abstract

The successful completion of this workshop owes much to Dieter Janz for suggesting the idea early in 1985, to Karl Sperling for announcing it as a satellite meeting of the 7th International Congress of Human Genetics, and to Gertrud Beck-Mannagetta for planning and coordinating the scientific presentations and arrangements. The effect has been to focus the attention of human geneticists on epilepsy, to provide epileptologists with exposure to advances in human genetics, and to speed up the analysis and interpretation of data combining these two important areas of research.
