Zusammenfassung

Im Gegensatz zur dilatativen und hypertrophischen Kardiomyopathie ist die restriktiv-obliterative Kardiomyopathie die seltenste Form in der westlichen Welt (Goodwin 1982). Die restriktive Kardiomyopathie ist charakterisiert durch eine überwiegende diastolische Füllungsbehinderung des rechten, linken oder beider Ventrikel bei weitgehend normaler systolischer Funktion (Goodwin 1983). Hä-modynamisch ähnelt die restriktive Kardiomyopathie der konstriktiven Perikar-ditis, deren wichtigste Differentialdiagnose sie darstellt und von der sie oftmals nur sehr schwer abzugrenzen ist (Chew et al. 1977). Die diastolische Füllungsbehinderung resultiert aus einer Verminderung der Dehnbarkeit des Subendokards und angrenzender Myokardabschnitte, so daß man im deutschen Sprachgebrauch auch vom inneren Panzerherz gesprochen hat.
