Summary
Injection moulding is one of the most important processes in plastics industries. Besides process know-how, advanced control methods are essential preconditions to guarantee a reliable and reproducible production. The paper deals with the identification of injection moulding by means of experimental modelling. Two mathematical models, both of very simple structure, are set up to be used for on-line adaptation: the model of the injection stage is utilized for process monitoring and machine supervision, a time-discrete model of the production cycle is the basis for feed-back and control of selected product features.
