Radikale Mastektomie und Bestrahlung (Postoperative Bestrahlung)

Zusammenfassung

Del Regato (1971) berichtete über eine prophylaktische postoperative Bestrahlung bei Mammacarcinom, die schon 1901 durch Dr. W. Pusey in Chikago vorgenommen wurde, um das Rezidivrisiko zu verringern. Auf dem Deutschen Röntgenkongreß 1926, bei dem die postoperative Bestrahlung Thema der therapeutischen Referate war, gab O. Jüngling (1926) einen Überblick über die bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt an verschiedenen Kliniken gemachten Erfahrungen und befaßte sich mit der Frage, ob die prophylaktische postoperative Bestrahlung bei Mammacarcinom berechtigt sei oder nicht. Er bemerkte dazu: „Vor dem Jahre 1920 wäre die Frage kaum in dieser Form dem Kongreß vorgelegt worden. Es war für die meisten einfach ein Postulat, die Röntgenstrahlen da zur Unterstützung heranzuziehen, wo der Macht des Messers Grenzen gezogen waren. Von Tübingen, W.,on Prof. Perthes, sind die ersten Zweifel an der Berechtigung der allgemeinen Forderung der prophylaktischen Nachbestrahlung ausgegangen. Die chirurgischen Kliniken, zu deren Stammaterial die Fälle von Mammacarcinomen ja gehören, haben sich in 2 Lager gespalten, die Röntgenologen stehen dazwischen, indem sie weitgehend von der Einstellung des Chirurgen abhängig sind.“
