Geothermal Studies, Their Present Status and Contribution to Heat Flow Contouring in Turkey

  • A. K. Tezcan

Abstract

The paper gives a brief survey of the recent results of geothermal research in Turkey. The country is characterized by numerous thermal springs and thus represents an area of potential sources of geothermal energy. On the basis of preliminary information on the distribution of these areas, applied geothermal prospection, and computed heat flow values, a map of the heat flow pattern is proposed.
