Zusammenfassung / Summary
Visual inspection is a cost-factor and a problem of quality and reliability in modern industry. Opto-electronics and pattern recognition is one way to the automation of visually controlled operations in the factory. A brief review of different methods and techniques is given. Applications in the field of identification and orienting parts and of automatic inspection and gaging systems are discussed.
