An analysis of signal often is necessary to get the wanted information of a measuring signal. To this Microprocessors are very suitable.

The Microprocessor and the needed storages are integrated in the measuring-device. It takes over the realization of arithmetic operations and the control of sequences of measuring and processing.

Fundamental mode of operation, efficiency and the limits of this technology are described.
