Uprooting and After...

Abstract

The studies by Ødegaard (1932) and Malzberg (1940) have clearly shown that migration from one country to another is associated with a greater incidence of psychiatric illness in the migrant. Evidence is not so unanimous in favor of a greater incidence of psychiatric illness in populations migrating from one place to another within the same country.
