Abstract
The immigration of workers from the south into the interior of Europe is now a common occurrence. Such immigration places a considerable strain on the family, and ability to deal with it depends not only on its intensity (the extent of socio-economic, linguistic and cultural difficulties, and emotional uprooting..…), but on the family’s readiness to face up to the problems created by the new situation.
