Zusammenfassung
Bei Untersuchungen von Radikalen, die in eine feste Matrix, etwa Kristalle, Gläser oder gefrorene Lösungsmittel eingebaut sind, werden die intramolekularen Magnetfelder der umgebenden magnetischen Dipole voll wirksam. Die Mittelung, wie sie S. 38 durchgeführt wurde, gilt nicht mehr. Es bleibt möglich, daß einzelne Substituenten des Radikalmoleküls, etwa ein CH3-Rest, um ihre Bindungsachsen rotieren, auch können sich kleinere Radikale u. U. innerhalb eines gewissen Bereichs noch so bewegen, daß die Dipolfelder herausgemittelt werden. Bei etwas ausgedehnteren Radikalen treten jedoch an den Kernen Magnetfelder des magnetischen Dipolmoments des freien Elektrons auf. Ihre Richtung ist von der des von außen angelegten H 0-Feldes abhängig, da der Spin des freien Elektrons und damit sein magnetisches Moment sich in diese H 0-Richtung einstellt.
