Das Gleichungssystem (4.2) bezieht sich auf die Verteilung von Wartezeiten, die mit einer i-Erneuerung beginnen. Nun sind aber auch die Wartezeiten von Interesse, die mit dem Anfangszustand beginnen (man denke etwa an die Zeitspanne bis zum ersten Ausfall eines Systems, das im Anfangszustand funktionsfähig ist).
