Zusammenfassung

Das Skelet dient dem Organismus nicht nur als Stützapparat, sondern auch als wichtige Mineralreserve. Die Erkennung von Veränderungen des Mineralgehaltes in einem Knochen war bisher nur durch die Röntgenuntersuchung oder die histologische Analyse einer Gewebeprobe leicht zugänglicher Skeletbezirke möglich. Zwar erlaubt die histologische Untersuchung eines Knochenpunktates, die Struktur des gewonnenen Gewebes zu beurteilen, doch ist hierzu stets ein Eingriff erforderlich, der für Kontrolluntersuchungen nach Behandlung einer Knochenerkrankung nicht beliebig oft wiederholt werden kann.
