Summary
Protocatechuic acid, a metabolite of adrenaline and noradrenaline, can be conjugated with glycine in the rat liver. The resulting protocatechuylglycine is to some extent methylated to vanilloylglycine. These results were obtained after perfusion of isolated rat livers with protocatechuic acid and protocatechuylglycine respectively.
