Acromegaly and Serum Growth Hormone

  • Chapter
Oestrogene Hypophysentumoren

Part of the book series: Oestrogene Hypophysentumoren ((ENDOKRINOLOGIE,volume 15))

Summary

Serum levels of HGH were measured in patients with acromegaly before (n = 10) and after (n = 7) radiotherapy or surgical intervention. Besides the confirmation of diagnosis, these measurements allowed the evaluation of the endocrine activity of the disease. Unsatisfactory responses to therapeutic procedures presently in use were recorded in the majority of the cases observed.
