Summary
Concerning HCG-induced pseudopregnancies the daily HCG-dosage has been chosen in order to have the HCG-values of excretion corresponding with those of normal early pregnancies. Gathering from the comparison between estrogen and pregnanediol excretion of normal pregnancies and pseudopregnancies the corpus-luteum of pregnancy is until the beginning of the 6th week the only estrogen and progesterone producer in pregnancy. During the 6 th week the trophoblast is taking part in producing steroid hormones. In the beginning of the 8 th week the embryo is taking part in steroid metabolism of placenta-hormones.
